The Specialty Hospital of Washington recognized Dr. James Cobey at its recent Medical Executive Meeting in recognition of his community and worldwide humanitarian works in the medical field. Dr. James Cobey has been on the staff at The Specialty Hospital of Washington since 2006. He is also an orthopedic surgeon at Washington Hospital Center.

SHW is participating in The Joint Commission Center’s program for Transforming Healthcare. The Healing Healthcare Partnership™ was launched in November 2011 for the purpose of bringing together health care organizations and industries to improve patient safety and lower the cost of health care.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the District of Columbia Health Care Association and Delmarva Foundation presented a Certificate of Special Recognition to our Hadley Nursing Center for participating in the On-Time Quality Improvement for Long-Term Care program and promoting evidence-based innovation in nursing home care.
